The Sultanlar Ligi transfer market has delivered a highly specific tactical movement, as the Galatasaray Daikin duo of setter Naz Aydemir Akyol and libero Eylül Akarçeşme Yatgın have officially joined VakıfBank Istanbul. 

Both players played a pivotal and capital role in Galatasaray’s recent historic exploit to lift the CEV Cup trophy. This double move represents a strategic re-engineering of VakıfBank’s domestic rotation, with very distinct objectives for each player.

For Naz Aydemir Akyol, this transition marks a major return to the club where she previously achieved continental glory. However, her tactical role this time is clearly defined as a veteran backup to starting setter Cansu Özbay, providing elite security and leadership from the bench.
On the other hand, Eylül Akarçeşme Yatgın enters the roster to challenge for a major starting role in the back row. She steps into the defensive vacancy left by Ayça Aykaç, who has officially parted ways with VakıfBank.
Interestingly, this transfer window features a fascinating game of musical chairs. Although no official announcement has been made yet, Ayça Aykaç is widely expected to make the exact reverse journey to fill the void left at Galatasaray Daikin.
UPDATE: VakifBank has signed Emily Maglio. The Canadian middle blocker is coming from Eczacıbaşı Dynavit and she is the third new face in the 2026/2027 roster.
