VakifBank Istanbul earned a 3–1 away victory over Savino Del Bene Scandicci in Group A of the 2025/26 CEV Champions League, with set scores of 26–24, 25–22, 17–25, 25–21.
The first set was balanced, with Scandicci pushing hard but VakifBank closing the decisive rallies to take it 26–24. In the second, the Turkish side tightened its block-defense and gradually imposed rhythm, winning 25–22.
Scandicci reacted strongly in the third, dominating 25–17 thanks to more aggressive serving and sharper net control. The fourth set saw VakifBank regroup, showing composure and consistency to seal the match 25–21.
Ekaterina Antropova stood out for Scandicci with 30 points, carrying much of her team’s offense, but her brilliance alone was not enough to prevent a home loss.
Tijana Bošković, MVP of the game, contributed 24 points for VakifBank, combining power with reliability, while Marina Markova added 21 points. Together, their performances highlighted the contrast: Scandicci relying heavily on one scorer, VakifBank spreading responsibility across multiple weapons to secure the win.
With this third straight victory, VakifBank has taken full control of Group A, while Savino Del Bene Scandicci suffered its first defeat in Europe’s premier club competition.
