Olympiakos delivered one of the biggest upsets of the CEV Women’s Champions League Group C, stunning Turkish giants Eczacıbaşı Istanbul, their Sultanlar Ligi rivals, in a five‑set thriller (21‑25, 25‑16, 19‑25, 26‑24, 18‑16) at the Rentis Hall. In front of a passionate home crowd, the Greek side showed resilience and heart to claim a famous victory.

Eczacıbaşı started strong, taking the opening set 25–21 behind the power of Magdalena Stysiak and Ebrar Karakurt. Olympiacos answered emphatically in the second, dominating 25–16 through sharp serving and strong blocking. The visitors regained control in the third set, winning 25–19, and looked poised to finish the job.

But Olympiakos refused to fold. In the fourth set, they fought back from behind and snatched it 26–24, sending the Rentis arena into chaos. The deciding set was pure drama, with both teams trading points until Olympiacos finally sealed the upset 18–16, completing the 3–2 victory.

Milica Kubura was the standout performer, scoring 26 points with a mix of powerful attacks and crucial blocks. Amanda Coneo added 13 points, while Jovana Stevanovic chipped in with 10. For Eczacıbaşı, Stysiak led with 22 points and Karakurt followed with 18, but their efforts weren’t enough to prevent the shock result.
