Pool B heats up as Igor Gorgonzola Novara welcome Fenerbahçe Medicana Istanbul in a match that could decide early leadership. Both teams opened with wins, and this clash already feels like the first true highlight of the group stage.

Fenerbahçe arrive with history to overcome. Against Italian clubs, their Champions League record sits at 7–13, including six straight group-phase defeats.

Novara have been particularly difficult opponents, winning all four previous meetings — two in the 2018 group stage and two in the 2021 quarterfinals, despite heavy scoring from Melissa Vargas. Captain Eda Erdem and her squad know this is a chance to finally flip the script.

Domestic form adds another layer. Fenerbahçe are unbeaten in the Sultanlar Ligi, standing second with eight wins from eight matches, just one point behind leaders VakifBank. Novara, meanwhile, are fifth in Serie A1 with nine wins and three losses, competitive but not dominant.

Novara’s European pedigree remains strong. Champions League winners in 2019, they hold a 9–7 record against Turkish opposition and will rely on Tatiana Tolok and Britt Herbots to keep their edge.

Novara want to reinforce their continental strength, while Fenerbahçe aim to prove that their domestic run can translate into European success. Expect intensity, high stakes, and a match worthy of Pool B’s spotlight.
