The 2025 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Final Four is about to take place in Kansas City, and it’s shaping up to be really exciting.
Four teams are left standing: Texas A&M, Pittsburgh, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Each of them has had a different kind of journey to get here, which makes the matchups even more interesting.
Texas A&M is the surprise of the tournament. They pulled off the biggest upset by knocking out Nebraska, who was the top seed and the big favorite to win it all.
That match went to five sets, and the Aggies showed a lot of fight. Players like Kyndal Stowers and Logan Lednicky stepped up with big performances, and now they’ve got a chance to keep their impressive pace against Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh has been one of the most steady programs in recent years. They’ve made it to the Final Four five times in a row now, which shows how consistent they are.
They beat Purdue in the last round, winning 3–1, and looked strong with a balanced team that doesn’t rely on just one star.
Olivia Babcock powers Pitt’s offense as one of the nation’s top hitters, while Emery Dupes anchors the defense.
Kentucky comes in as another top seed. They swept Creighton in the regional final and have looked dominant so far.
Brooklyn DeLeye is Kentucky’s go-to scorer, supported by Lizzie Carr’s blocking presence in the middle. Setter Kassie O’Brien keeps the offense flowing smoothly, making the Wildcats tough to stop.
Wisconsin rounds out the group after beating Texas in four sets. They’ve been here before, making multiple Final Four appearances in recent years, and their experience shows.
Mimi Colyer drives Wisconsin’s attack, with Carter Booth controlling the net defensively. Grace Lopez and Trinity Shadd-Ceres add depth, ensuring the Badgers have multiple scoring threats across the court.
So now the stage is set: Pittsburgh vs. Texas A&M, and Kentucky vs. Wisconsin. The semifinals are on December 18, and the championship match will be on December 21. It’s a mix of powerhouse programs and one big underdog story, which makes this Final Four feel wide open.
