VakifBank Volleyball

VakifBank and Fenerbahçe Medicana produced a five‑set classic in the Sultanlar Ligi. In front of 6,460 fans at Burhan Felek Vestel Voleybol Salonu, VakifBank emerged victorious 3–2 after two hours of high drama, with set scores of 14–25, 25–21, 17–25, 25–23, and 15–13.

Fenerbahçe opened strongly, crushing VakifBank in the first set and later reclaiming control in the third. VakifBank, however, showed resilience, edging the fourth set 25–23 before sealing the decider 15–13. 

The match swung back and forth, with momentum shifting constantly, but VakifBank’s composure in the final rallies proved decisive.

Marina Markova was the standout performer, scoring an extraordinary 37 points. For Fenerbahçe, Arina Fedorovtseva led with 26 points, supported by Melissa Vargas with 21 and captain Eda Erdem Dundar with 16.

The victory keeps VakifBank unbeaten at the top of the league with ten wins and 29 points, while Fenerbahçe remains close behind with nine wins and 27 points.

The other big game of the day saw Zeren Spor stun Galatasaray Daikin with a 3–2 victory. Galatasaray looked in control early, taking the first and third sets, but Zeren responded with determination, dominating the fourth 25–11 before sealing the tie‑break 15–10 to complete the upset
