Defending champions Imoco Volley Conegliano booked their place in the semifinals of the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship after a commanding straight-sets win over Zamalek Sporting Club of Egypt on Wednesday.
Even with a rotated lineup, the Italian powerhouse controlled the match at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu, sweeping 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-22) to remain unbeaten in Group B. The result lifted Conegliano to six points, joining Brazil’s Dentil Praia Clube in the knockout stage. Zamalek and the USA’s Orlando Valkyries remain winless and are eliminated.
Young opposite Merit Adigwe shone for Conegliano, scoring 19 points (16 kills, three aces), while Slovenian outside hitter Fatoumatta Sillah added 14. For Zamalek, opposite Eassa Toqaallah led with 11 points, supported by Croatian outside hitter Matea Magdić with seven.
Meanwhile, Dentil Praia Clube Uberlândia all but sealed their semifinal spot with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-15, 28-26) win over the USA’s Orlando Valkyries, led by captain Adenizia Da Silva, to stay perfect in Group B.
In Group A Savino Del Bene Scandicci sealed their semifinal berth in their Club World Championship debut, sweeping hosts Osasco São Cristovão Saúde 3-0 (31-29, 25-22, 25-15)
In the other Group A game, Club Alianza Lima claimed a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Zhetysu VC (26-24, 21-25, 23-25, 24-26).
