Numia Vero Volley Milano opened their sixth CEV Champions League campaign with a straight-sets win over debutants Olympiacos Piraeus. Bronze medallists last season, the Italians set the tone early by taking the first set 25-18, with Vita Akimova and Elena Pietrini leading a balanced attack.

Olympiacos responded in the second, holding a 18-15 lead and threatening to level the match. But MILANO’s experience proved decisive: Benedetta Sartori dominated at the net, while Rebecca Piva impressed in her Champions League debut, helping the hosts edge the set 27-25.

With momentum firmly on their side, Milano controlled the third from start to finish, closing it 25-16 to secure a 3-0 victory. Pietrini earned MVP honors with 17 points at 62% efficiency, while Kubura led Olympiacos with 13. The Italians also outperformed their rivals at the net, tallying 12 blocks to four, underlining their superiority.
