Imoco Volley Conegliano has defeated Savino Del Bene Scandicci tonight in what was the headliner event of this weekend in the Italian Serie A, Matchday 10. Both teams performed really well, with the visitors showing excellent pace and making life harder for the reigning champions. In the end, it was a 3-1 win for Imoco Conegliano at the Pallaverde arena.
The local heroes took the first set 25-22, Savino Del Bene bounced back and clinched the second 23-25, and were close to doing the same in the third, losing it 25-22. The fourth and final set was an all-Imoco Conegliano affair with a clean 25-16.
The MVP of the game was Asia Wolosz, who orchestrated the attack brilliantly and kept Imoco Conegliano in control throughout the match. Isabelle Haak was once again super impressive, scoring 22 points, followed by Fatoumatta Sillah with 18, while Gabi Guimarães added 14 more. At Savino Del Bene, Ekaterina Antropova was the best scorer with 14 points, ahead of Avery Skinner with 12.
In the overall championship standings, Imoco Volley Conegliano is starting to pull away with a total of 32 points, ahead of their tonight’s rival Savino Del Bene with 25 points, and the third-placed Vero Volley Milano with 23 points.
