The Canadian women's volleyball team secured a spot for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games by defeating the Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-15, 20-25, 25-23, 25-14) at the NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament in Santo Domingo. 

This victory marks the team's first Olympic qualification since the Atlanta 1996 Games. Canada remained undefeated throughout the entire week, capturing the NORCECA Championship title for the first time in its history.

Alexa Gray and Kiera Van Ryk led the Canadian offense, contributing 22 points each during the match. Statistics show that Canada outperformed the Dominican Republic in killing spikes (56-40), blocks (8-7), and service aces (8-3), although the Canadian squad conceded more points due to unforced errors. 
Head coach Giovanni Guidetti, who manages a roster combining experienced athletes and younger players, noted that the team successfully achieved its two main objectives for the season: reaching the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) final round and qualifying for the upcoming Olympic Games.
Following the match, team members expressed satisfaction with the result. Player Alexa Gray, who has been with the national team since 2017, described the qualification as a long-term goal accomplished after a previous unsuccessful attempt for the 2024 Games. 
Setter Brie Fransen and coach Guidetti both commended the squad's work ethic and perseverance over the competitive period, emphasizing the collective effort required by the players and staff to secure the Olympic berth.
