Slovenia and Sweden have reached the final of the CEV European League 2026 after delivering dominant performances in the return leg of the semifinals. Both teams confirmed their status as tournament favorites by closing out their respective series in clean fashion.
Slovenia continued their flawless and immaculate run in the tournament by sweeping Slovakia 3-0 on their home court in Ljubljana.
Having already established a solid 3-0 advantage in Nitra during the first leg with scores of 25-16, 25-23, and 25-17, Alessandro Orefice's squad left absolutely no room for a Slovakian comeback.
In this second match, the Slovenian team maintained intense focus to secure the sweep by running through the sets 25-22, 25-16, and 25-21, entering the final without dropping a single set across the entire semifinal stage.
On the other side of the bracket, Sweden punched their ticket to the final with a convincing 3-1 victory over Hungary in Örebro. Following a grueling, two-hour marathon match in the first leg that went to a five-set tiebreak—which Sweden won 3-2 with partial scores of 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-17, and 15-9—the Swedish squad adjusted cleanly on home soil.
Powered by world-class superstar Isabelle Haak, the reigning champions bounced back from a second-set stumble to seal the victory with a 25-17, 22-25, 25-17, and 25-20 scoreline, keeping their dreams of back-to-back crowns alive.
CEV European League Final schedule: the two nations will play each other in the final, with legs planned for July 8, 2026, in Sweden for the 1st leg, and July 11 or July 12, 2026, in Slovenia for the 2nd leg.
