FC Porto has officially reclaimed the national crown by capturing the 2025/2026 Portuguese Women's Volleyball League title. After losing their throne to SL Benfica the previous year, Miguel Coelho’s squad staged a spectacular return to the top, dominating the playoff finals 3-1 in the series against SC Braga
This championship victory secures a magnificent domestic double for the Blue and Whites, who also lifted the Portuguese Cup earlier in the season.
Right from the opening whistle of the Liga Solverde.pt campaign, FC Porto made their intentions crystal clear. Throughout the regular season, the Dragons played with a relentless rhythm that left opponents searching for answers.
Combining an airtight defense with a highly clinical offense, they stormed to the number one seed in the standings while suffering only a single defeat along the way. This absolute dominance guaranteed them crucial home-court advantage throughout the entire postseason.
The best-of-five playoff final delivered high-stakes drama against a fierce SC Braga side. Porto opened the series strong at the DragĂŁo Arena, but Braga quickly fired back at home with a 3-0 sweep to even the series. Unfazed by the pressure, Porto bounced back at home in Game 3 before heading to Braga’s court on May 10, 2026, looking to close out the championship.
During that decisive Game 4 at the AMCO Arena, FC Porto put on a masterclass in composure, securing the title with a straight-sets 3-0 victory (25-20, 27-25, 25-22) [cev.eu]. Canadian middle blocker Kelsey Veltman and opposite hitter Mika Grbavica led the charge with 13 points each, while Polish outside hitter Natalia Murek chipped in 12 points to seal the historic win.
