The Dallas Pulse wrote the perfect storybook finale to their inaugural season, stunning the volleyball world by clinching the 2026 Major League Volleyball (MLV) championship in front of 4,598 roaring fans at the Comerica Center. In a dramatic five-set showdown—the first MLV final ever to go the distance—the expansion squad toppled the Omaha Supernovas to capture the coveted trophy and the $1 million prize in the “Match for a Million.”

No one thought a brand-new team could mesh this quickly, but head coach Shannon Winzer crafted a powerhouse. Dallas stormed through the regular season with a 17-7 record, earning the No. 2 seed. They dispatched the San Diego Mojo in the semifinals, setting up a clash with Omaha’s seasoned champions. While Omaha leaned on experience, Dallas countered with hunger and resilience.

The championship match was a rollercoaster. Omaha struck first, claiming sets one and three with authority. Down 2-1, Dallas erupted in the fourth, riding the energy of their home crowd to a dominant 25-13 win. In the decisive fifth, the Pulse broke a 3-3 deadlock with a blistering 10-6 run, sealing the historic victory 15-9.

Stars rose to the occasion. Outside hitter Sofia Maldonado Diaz delivered a masterclass, earning MVP honors with 27 points, 26 kills, and 11 digs—including five clutch kills in the final set. Setter Natalia Valentin-Anderson orchestrated the offense with 43 assists, while Tristin Savage tied a postseason record with seven blocks at the net. And with steady leadership from Outside Hitter of the Year Mimi Colyer, Dallas showcased the league’s most exciting young core.
