The Nebraska volleyball team just dropped their 2026 schedule, and it looks like a fun but brutal stretch. They are playing 28 games in total, splits between 17 Big Ten conference matches and 11 out-of-conference games. Nine of these matchups are against teams that finished in the top 25 last season, so they aren't taking the easy route.
They start the season on the road in late August with some unique venue showcases. First, they head to Texas on August 27th for an exhibition night at AT&T Stadium (the Dallas Cowboys' stadium) against two teams out of Florida, Penn State, or SMU. Right after that, they fly to Las Vegas for the Players Era Showcase, opening the official season against UNLV on August 29th and playing Texas the very next night at T-Mobile Arena.
September keeps them traveling early on with stops in South Dakota and Chicago. The coolest part of this stretch is on September 6th, when they will play Missouri outdoors at Wrigley Field for the Big Ten/SEC Challenge. After that, they finally get a long homestand in Lincoln, hosting a couple of weekend tournaments against teams like Baylor and Georgia Tech, plus their annual local rivalry game against Creighton at Pinnacle Bank Arena on September 16th.
Big Ten conference play kicks off at home against Rutgers on September 25th. The rest of the fall is packed, featuring a big October homestand against Purdue, UCLA, and USC, followed by a long November road trip out west to play Oregon and Washington. They finish the regular season with three straight home games before heading to Indiana for the first-ever Big Ten Tournament at the end of November.
