UNI Opole achieved a historic milestone by finishing third overall in the 2025/2026 TAURON Liga season, capturing a spectacular bronze medal and securing a prestigious ticket to the next CEV Champions League.
This podium finish crowns a highly successful and unforgettable season for the club, which claimed its first-ever medal at the highest level of Polish volleyball.
The team proved their elite status in a grueling third-place playoff series, displaying incredible resilience to defeat the formidable BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała 3-1 after a tense four-match battle.
The ultimate catalyst behind this triumphant campaign was their legendary veteran captain, Katarzyna Zaroślińska-Król. The superstar opposite put on a true masterclass of offensive dominance, beautifully carrying the team's attack to finish as the league's top scorer with an astonishing 530 points.
Her staggering consistency on the court earned her a league-high 8 Match MVP awards, showcasing her incredible ability to deliver her best volleyball under extreme pressure and beautifully culminating at the Polish Volleyball League Gala, where she was officially crowned the absolute Best Player of the TAURON Liga Season.
Furthermore, this unforgettable year saw her make history as the first player ever to cross the 400-match milestone in the competition, forever cementing her status as an eternal icon of Polish volleyball.
Alongside her, Swedish outside hitter Hanna Hellvig played a pivotal role throughout the year, establishing herself as an indispensable pillar of the starting lineup.
She consistently delivered brilliant performances by providing crucial scoring depth, excellent reception, and high-pressure clutch plays that perfectly balanced Opole's potent offense.
Thanks to this perfect blend of collective grit and individual brilliance, UNI Opole has officially written its name into the history books in Poland and ready to challenge Europe's elite next season on the biggest club stage in the world.
