Week 9 of the Turkish Sultanlar Ligi once again highlighted the dominance of the league’s two leading clubs, VakıfBank and Fenerbahçe Medicana, both of whom extended their perfect records with straight‑sets victories.

On Friday night, VakıfBank hosted Bahçelievler Belediyespor and controlled the match from start to finish. The defending champions needed just 63 minutes to secure a 3–0 win, taking the sets 25–19, 25–11, and 25–15. Their efficiency in attack and solid defensive organization left little room for resistance. The result pushed VakıfBank’s record to nine wins in nine matches, while Bahçelievler Belediyespor fell to their ninth consecutive defeat, underlining the gulf between the top and bottom of the table.

Two days later, on Sunday, Fenerbahçe Medicana traveled to face İlbank and produced a similarly commanding performance. The visitors claimed a 3–0 victory with set scores of 25–19, 25–16, and 25–18. Russian outside hitter Arina Fedorovtseva led all scorers with 20 points, while Hande Baladın added 13 and Yaasmeen Bedart Ghani contributed 11. Fenerbahçe’s balanced attack and consistency across all rotations ensured that İlbank struggled to keep pace.

With both teams now sitting at 9–0 records, the championship picture is clear: only their direct clashes will decide who takes control of the league. That decisive test comes very soon, as Fenerbahçe will host VakıfBank next Thursday, December 15th, in Matchday 10. Earlier this season, Fenerbahçe edged their arch rivals in an epic 3–2 thriller to lift the 2025 Turkish Women’s Volleyball Supercup, adding extra intrigue to what promises to be one of the season’s defining encounters.
