Seven matchdays into the 2025/2026 Russian Women’s Super League, and one team is clearly setting the pace — Dinamo-Ak Bars

With seven victories and only three sets dropped, the Kazan-based powerhouse is dominating the field in style. Their rhythm is relentless, and so far, no rival has managed to keep up.

The squad is stacked with talent in every position, making them a nightmare to face. In their latest clash against Dynamo-Metar, middle blocker Taisia Konovalova was named MVP for her outstanding performance, while opposite hitter Gaila González racked up an impressive 17 points.

The season is still long in the Russian Super League, and many battles lie ahead — but one thing is already clear: Dinamo-Ak Bars are setting a standard that few teams look capable of matching.

Taisia Konovalova’s post-match remarks following the game against Dynamo-Metar:

I would say that in the first game we fought more with ourselves. It's not that Metar scored a lot against us.

We didn't finish off the balls ourselves, somewhere, one might say, we felt sorry for the opponents. We were looking for our own game, maybe we tried something non-standard for ourselves, used a lot of discounts.

Well, let the next opponents prepare and guess whether we will throw or hit hard!

Dinamo-Ak Bars’ next game will be an away match against Uralochka-NTMK on November 14.
