Imoco Volley Conegliano defeated Vero Volley Milano 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-23, 25-21) at the Palaverde arena in what was clearly the standout game of Serie A Matchday 8.
It’s the eighth straight win for the reigning champions and a bit of revenge after losing the Italian Supercup to Milano just weeks ago.
Once again, Isabelle Haak was on fire, scoring no less than 26 points, while Gabi Guimarães shined too with 19 and the team’s libero Monica De Gennaro was chosen MVP of the game.
Milano played really well, and even with an outstanding Paola Egonu putting up 25 points, they couldn’t stop Conegliano.
Imoco now leads the Serie A standings with 23 points, four ahead of second-placed Savino Del Bene Scandicci, who sit at 19.
