Fluminense delivered one of their biggest wins of the season in the Brazil Superliga Feminina, stunning defending champions Osasco in a five‑set battle at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanãzinho (24–26, 27–25, 25–22, 21–25, 15–9). 

The Rio side showed resilience throughout, bouncing back after dropping the opening set and closing strong in the tie‑break to secure the upset.

Opposite Ariane Pinto was the star of the night, earning MVP honors with 24 points (22 kills, two blocks). Her consistency and leadership proved decisive against an Osasco team powered by Argentine opposite Bianca Cugno, who topped all scorers with 33 points.

The victory not only boosts Fluminense’s momentum but also reshapes the standings, as Osasco slip to third with 18 points. 

Their back‑to‑back defeats opened the door for Dentil Praia Clube, who swept Paulistano Barueri (25–17, 25–23, 25–19) behind 19 points from American opposite Morgahn Fingall, to draw level on points and keep the race for the top four wide open.

Fluminense’s triumph highlights their growing strength in the league, proving they can match and beat Brazil’s traditional powerhouses.
