The 2025 Big 12 Regular Season reached its climax Friday night as No. 9 Arizona State Volleyball clinched the championship with a 3-1 win at Houston (25-14, 20-25, 25-18, 25-16). The victory delivers the program’s second conference crown in history.
With a 24-3 overall record and 15-1 in league play, the Sun Devils secure back‑to‑back Big 12 titles, repeating last year’s triumph in their debut season in the conference. The win also locks in Arizona State’s automatic ticket to the NCAA Tournament, where they will face the nation’s top Division I teams in pursuit of a deeper run.
Head Coach JJ Van Niel called the achievement “really special,” praising a brand‑new starting lineup that has “fought and worked hard to improve every single day.” He emphasized how intentional the group has been in sharpening their craft, with both veterans and newcomers grinding daily to get better.
Senior outside hitter Bailey Miller described the back‑to‑back title as “super special,” noting how younger players stepped up quickly. Looking ahead, she said the team is “excited to show people what we’re made of” in the NCAA Tournament, and prove that “anything is possible.”
