The University of Oregon women’s volleyball team secured a narrow 3-2 victory (25-19, 19-25, 25-15, 16-25, 19-17) against the University of Iowa on October 3, 2025, at Matthew Knight Arena.
The match was highly competitive, with Oregon winning the first and third sets wire-to-wire, while Iowa bounced back to take the second and fourth frames. In the deciding fifth set, Iowa put intense pressure on the home team by earning four match points. However, Oregon managed to fight off each deficit before capitalizing on their own opportunity to close the frame at 19-17.

The outcome was heavily dictated by key offensive leaders on both sides of the net. For Iowa, the duo of Chard'e Vanzandt and Carmel Vares spearheaded the attack, each recording a team-high 18 kills to keep the Hawkeyes consistently in contention.

On the Oregon side, Valentina Vaulet delivered a match-high 19 kills, including crucial back-to-back points in the final moments of the fifth set. She was closely supported by teammate Alanah Clemente, who contributed 14 kills and two critical service aces during the high-stakes fifth-set rally. Defensively, Holley McFadden anchored Oregon at the net with six blocks to complement her seven kills.
