In a major boost for women's professional sports, the League One Volleyball (LOVB) has officially unveiled Los Angeles as the home for its newest pro franchise, slated to tip off in the league's 2027 season. This addition will elevate LOVB's roster to seven teams nationwide, amplifying the spotlight on elite female volleyball talent.
The LA squad joins six established franchises: LOVB Atlanta, LOVB Austin (the 2025 champions), LOVB Houston, LOVB Madison, LOVB Nebraska (former LOVB Omaha) and LOVB Salt Lake.
Stephanie Alger, Chief Growth Officer at LOVB:
Los Angeles holds an incredible amount of volleyball currency. From top youth clubs to high schools and universities, the region is a hotbed of talent and fandom.
As we determined locations for our next professional team, Southern California was an easy choice – Los Angeles lives and breathes volleyball.
LOVB is growing steadily, and with exciting new franchises like Los Angeles joining the league, North America's pro volleyball scene looks brighter than ever.
