Galatasaray Daikin 2025–26: Aiming to shine in Turkey and conquer Europe CEV Cup

Galatasaray Daikin enters the 2025–2026 volleyball season with a clear mission: to shine brightly in the Sultanlar Ligi and make a serious push for the CEV Cup. While the Turkish league continues to be dominated by the “big three”—VakıfBank, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit, and Fenerbahçe Medicana—Galatasaray is building a squad that can disrupt the hierarchy and challenge for top honors.

Led by legendary coach Massimo Barbolini, the team has assembled a deep and dynamic roster. The arrival of Myriam Sylla, a World Champion with Italy and former star of Vero Volley Milano, is a bold statement. Sylla brings elite-level experience, unmatched intensity, and a winning mentality that could tip the scales in crucial matches.

Alongside her, Galatasaray boasts Turkish volleyball icon Naz Aydemir Akyol, rising star Alexia Căruțașu, American powerhouse Alexandra Frantti, and a strong core of domestic talent including captain İlkin Aydın and middle blocker Yasemin Güveli.

While dethroning the likes of VakıfBank, Eczacıbaşı, and Fenerbahçe may be a tall order, Galatasaray’s goal is clear: to be the best of the rest in Turkey and to lift the CEV Cup—a trophy that has eluded them for years. Their European campaign begins with a clash against FC Porto, and every step forward will be a test of their depth, chemistry, and ambition.

This season, Galatasaray Daikin isn’t chasing shadows—they’re carving their own path. And if the pieces fall into place, they could be the surprise package of Turkish and European volleyball.
