The 2026 Women's European Volleyball Championship (EuroVolley), the 34th edition of this premier CEV event, had its preliminary pools revealed during a grand Drawing of Lots at Bari’s Castello Normanno-Svevo on October 4, 2025. Hosted by Turkey, Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, and Sweden from August 21 to September 6, the 24 teams are split into four pools of six, with the top four from each advancing to the Round of 16
Pool A (Istanbul, Turkey): Co-hosts and defending champions Turkey headline Pool A, facing Poland in a rematch of a 2023 quarter-final thriller. Germany, Slovenia, Hungary, and Latvia complete the group. Turkey and Poland are favorites, but Germany’s experience and Slovenia’s ambition make this a competitive pool.
Pool B (Brno, Czech Republic): Czech Republic hosts Pool B, joined by 2023 runners-up Serbia, alongside Austria, Ukraine, Bulgaria, and Greece. Serbia, a dominant force, is favored to top the group, while the Czechs, buoyed by home support, aim to repeat their strong 2023 showing despite a quarter-final loss to Serbia.
Pool C (Azerbaijan): The Netherlands, 2023 bronze medalists, lead Pool C with Azerbaijan, Portugal, Belgium, Romania, and Spain. Having dropped only four sets last edition, the Dutch are poised to dominate, though Belgium and Romania could challenge for top spots in this balanced group.
Pool D (Sweden): Reigning World, Olympic and VNL champions Italy, unbeaten in over a year, anchor Pool D alongside hosts Sweden, Montenegro (the tournament’s debutant), France, Slovakia, and Croatia. Italy is the clear favorite, but Sweden and France aim to upset the giants.
