The Orlando Valkyries, Florida’s rising volleyball stars, stunned the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) by winning the 2025 championship after a lackluster 2024 debut. Now in the rebranded Major League Volleyball (MLV) for 2026, they’re set to defend their title in an eight-team league with big ambitions.
How they won the 2025 PVF title
From an 8-16 record in 2024, the Valkyries flipped the script in 2025, finishing 18-10 under coach Amy Pauly. Opposite hitter Brittany Abercrombie, the PVF MVP, led with dominant kills, while setter Pornpun "Chompoo" Guedpard ran the offense. In the playoffs, Orlando upset Atlanta 3-1 in the semifinals and crushed Indy Ignite 3-1 in the May 11 finals, with Abercrombie’s 27 kills and Guedpard’s 37 assists (earning MVP) securing the $1 million prize.
Defending the title in the 2026 MLV era
As MLV launches in January 2026 at Addition Financial Arena, the Valkyries aim to repeat with stars Abercrombie and Guedpard retained via free agency. Facing tougher foes like Omaha and Atlanta, Pauly’s squad banks on defense and chemistry to chase another title in a league poised for growth, with expansion planned for 2027. Fans are buzzing for a historic season.
