Agnieszka Korneluk: From Polish triumphs to Turkish ambitions with Fenerbahçe

Agnieszka Korneluk, born October 17, 1994, in Opolu, Poland, is a 199 cm middle blocker dubbed the “Queen of the Block.” After dominating Poland’s Tauron Liga, she’s now chasing new heights with Fenerbahçe Medicana in Turkey’s Sultanlar Ligi for the 2025/2026 season. Her journey showcases resilience and leadership on club and international stages.

Korneluk’s career began with KS Energetyk Poznań (2005–2010), followed by stints at Impel Wrocław (2013–2017), Grot Budowlani Łódź (2017–2018), and Italian clubs Pomì Casalmaggiore (2018–2019) and Pallavolo Scandicci (2019–2020). At KPS Chemik Police (2020–2024), she secured three Polish Championships (2020–2021, 2021–2022, 2023–2024), two Polish Cups (2020–2021, 2022–2023), and a Polish Super Cup (2023–2024). Her 2024–2025 season with KS DevelopRes Rzeszów clinched their first Tauron Liga title, earning her MVP and Best Middle Blocker awards for her stellar blocks and leadership.

Internationally, Korneluk has been a Polish national team cornerstone since 2012. As captain, she led Poland to Volleyball Nations League (VNL) bronze medals in 2023 and 2024 and secured a Paris 2024 Olympic berth—the nation’s first in women’s volleyball since 2008. She earned Best Middle Blocker honors at the 2019 Montreux Volley Masters, 2019 European Championship, and 2024 and 2025 VNL tournaments. Despite a 0:3 Olympic quarterfinal loss to the USA in 2024, her 19-point effort (14 attack, 4 blocks) in a 3:2 VNL 2025 win over the Netherlands showcased her clutch play.

In June 2025, Korneluk joined Fenerbahçe Medicana, saying, “I’m so excited—it will be a nice adventure.” With a 56.38% attack efficiency in VNL 2025 (133 points: 84 attack, 45 blocks, 4 serves), she aims to win the Turkish league and excel in the CEV Champions League alongside teammates Alessia Orro, Melissa Vargas and the others.
