Savino Del Bene Scandicci has stumbled yet again, racking up their second consecutive defeat in as many games this season in Italian Serie A.

The clash between Megabox Vallefoglia and Scandicci was an absolute dogfight. After two and a half hours of grinding at the Vitrifrigo Arena, the home crowd took the win. Just like their season opener against Chieri, the Tuscan squad choked at the tie-break once more.
Vallefoglia dominated the first two sets (25-22, 25-23) thanks to big games from Bici and Bolzonetti. Scandicci fired back with a vengeance to tie it up, taking the next two sets 20-25 and 19-25 behind Van Ryk’s 24 points.
In the end, the tie-break lottery swung Vallefoglia's way, closing out 15-13. Five clutch points from the match MVP, Bolzonetti, sealed the deal. With a measly 2 points after two games, this is officially Scandicci’s worst league start since the 2019-20 season.
Meanwhile, the reigning champions Imoco Conegliano cruised to a 3-0 sweep (25-9, 25-21, 27-25) over UYBA.
Despite a fightback from the young Busto squad, captain Joanna Wołosz made a surprise return to seal the win. Isabelle Haak MVP climbed to top scorer with 18 points (4 blocks, 2 aces), while Grozer paced the opponents with 15 points.
