The Pittsburgh Panthers have firmly cemented their status among the absolute elite of NCAA Women’s Volleyball. Following five consecutive Final Four appearances, including their brilliant run in 2025, the Panthers entered 2026 with one goal: the national championship.

Led by a completely unleashed Olivia Babcock, Pitt has crushed everything in its path, completing a perfect 10-0 march through non-conference play and dismantling top-ranked powerhouses along the way. 

The Panthers' dominant run includes statement victories over No. 3 Kentucky, No. 6 Wisconsin, No. 15 Kansas, and No. 24 BYU, proving they are the team to beat this season.

At the center of this hurricane is senior right-side Olivia Babcock. The reigning superstar has been playing on another planet, racking up an astonishing 164 kills over these 10 matches.
But what makes this team truly terrifying is how beautifully their offense flows with Pitt's setter Izzy Starck distributing pure "caviars" all over the court.
When defenses hyper-focus on Babcock, Starck effortlessly feeds Pitt’s secondary weapons. Outside hitters Blaire Bayless (110 kills) and Ayanna Watson (82 kills) have been absolutely lethal as the team's next best scorers.
At the net, middle blockers Maaike Heilig and Jordyn Dailey shut down opposing offenses while remaining incredibly efficient on quick attacks. Meanwhile, the back row is anchored by elite floor defense from libero Mallorie Meyer, keeping plays alive and giving Pitt the transition edge.
There is absolutely no shadow of a doubt: the Panthers are heavy favorites to clinch the ACC crown. But their true eyes are fixed on December.
