The day belonged to a massive sensation in Brno, where fans witnessed a stunning upset that completely shook up the tournament bracket.

The exploit of the day belongs entirely to Sweden, who pulled off a monumental shocker by eliminating co-hosts Czechia.


The Swedish squad dictated the tempo from start to finish to secure a clinical, straight-sets sweep (3-0: 25-19, 25-23, 25-21) in front of a stunned Czech crowd.

Over in Istanbul, spectators were treated to the day's most dramatic thriller between the Netherlands and Slovenia. The Dutch had to dig deep into their reserves to pull off a 3-2 victory in a rollercoaster match, which included an epic 29-31 loss in the fourth set. 

Showing superior mental fortitude in the tie-break (15-9), the Netherlands successfully extended their tournament run.


Finally, Poland held their ground without trembling against Portugal in a heated Turkish atmosphere. Despite strong Portuguese resistance in the third set, Poland's collective net power made the difference to seal a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-17, 25-23).
