The Canadian women's volleyball team secured their first-ever gold medal at the 2026 NORCECA Women’s Continental Volleyball Championship by defeating the United States 3-2 (25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 15-10) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 

This milestone accomplishment marks the country's 14th medal overall in the history of the event, following two silver and 11 bronze medals. Canada completed the entire continental tournament with a perfect 5-0 record.


The gold-medal match saw Canada jump to an early two-set advantage. The United States, playing with their regular starters, mounted a comeback to control the third and fourth sets through a powerful blocking scheme.
In the definitive fifth set, the Canadian squad regained its rhythm to seal the 15-10 win. The tournament victory was a key element of the team's seasonal program under head coach Giovanni Guidetti, who manages a mixed roster composed of veteran contributors and younger athletes.
Anchoring Canada’s elite defensive efforts, libero Kacey Jost was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Alongside co-hosts USA and Canada, the top three eligible finishing federations at the Continental Championship—Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico—also finalized their qualifications for the 2027 FIVB World Cup.
