Galatasaray Daikin Women's Volleyball Team has officially secured a major offensive upgrade for the upcoming season, signing Russian opposite hitter Vita Akimova from Italy's Vero Volley Milano. 

The 2002-born star arrives in Istanbul with a stellar European resume, ready to reinforce a squad that enters the new campaign as the reigning 2026 CEV Cup Champions.

Akimova’s arrival sets up an elite positional pairing in the Turkish Sultanlar Ligi. She will share the opposite hitter spot with Alexia Căruțașu. 
This dual-threat setup provides the coaching staff with incredible tactical depth, pairing Akimova's high-altitude attacking with Căruțașu's sharp angles and familiarity with the club's system.
