Following the defeat in the championship finals against PGE Budowlani Łódź, a massive roster shake-up took place at KS DevelopRes Rzeszów. As the club prepares for the upcoming 2026/2027 campaign, they faced a historic exodus of core talent. This extensive list of departures signals the definitive end of an era for the squad that utterly dominated the last regular season.
The most devastating blow to the team's tactical identity came with the departure of star international setter Katarzyna Wenerska. Far from retiring, Wenerska made a blockbuster move directly to Rzeszów's ultimate rivals and newly crowned champions, PGE Budowlani Łódź, leaving a massive void in the playmaker position.
At the same time, the team lost its primary offensive engine with the departure of American powerhouse Taylor Bannister. As the structural focal point of the offense, Bannister's lethal attacking and serving dictated Rzeszów's rhythm for years, but she has now taken her talents to Greece to join Olympiacos Piraeus.
The bleeding continued into the backline with the loss of defensive anchor Aleksandra Szczygłowska. The exceptional Polish international libero, who served as the team's emotional and defensive spine, decided to move abroad to join League One Volleyball.
Compounding these vital departures, veteran Belgian middle blocker Laura Heyrman officially retired from professional volleyball. Her departure takes away invaluable leadership, elite net presence, and years of international experience from the locker room.
While the spotlight remains firmly on the loss of these four irreplaceable cornerstone pillars, the exodus ran much deeper across the entire roster. The rotation was further depleted as backup setter Karina Chmielewska also opted for the United States, joining the Atlanta Vibe in the Major League Volleyball.
The team's depth took additional hits with opposite hitter Oliwia Sieradzka moving to domestic rivals LOTTO Chemik Police, second-choice libero Magda Kubas signing with Sokół & Hagric Mogilno, and middle blocker Nathalie Lemmens joining the Omaha Supernovas in America.
Furthermore, young prospect Nelly Adamczewska departed for Italy's Sigel-Seap Marsala, and Ukrainian middle blocker Svitlana Dorsman also left for the American LOVB league.
By losing both its headline stars and essential bench strength, Rzeszów closed a legendary chapter of its history, forcing the club into an immediate and massive generational reset.
