Zeren Spor Kulübü clinched a convincing clean-sweep home victory against Germany’s SSC Palmberg Schwerin in the CEV Champions League Playoffs second leg.
Led by Anna Lazareva, who tallied 16 points, Zeren showed no mercy right from the start, clinching the opening set 25–16 with commanding play that set the tone for the night. They carried that momentum into the second set, pulling away to a 25–18 win, before closing the match in ruthless fashion with a dominant 25–14 finish.
Zeren’s other top scorers were Aleksandra Uzelac with 15 points, while Svetlana Gatina added 13. On the SSC Palmberg Schwerin side, Marije Ten Brinke led with 9 points, and teammate Mia Kirchhoff contributed 7.
For their first-ever appearance in the CEV Champions League, Zeren Spor Kulübü have impressed, advancing to the next round. They now face the toughest challenge yet in the quarterfinals against the strongest European team of the moment and reigning champions, Imoco Volley Conegliano.
