Imoco Volley Conegliano scored a dominant away victory against Turkish squad Zeren in Ankara during CEV Champions League Matchday 5.
The reigning 2025 European champions, who had narrowly escaped a massive upset in their previous encounter with the same opponent, once again demonstrated why they are considered the team to beat in Europe.
The match ended in straight sets, with Conegliano winning 21–25, 18–25, 21–25. The Italian side tallied a total of 73 points, highlighted by 7 aces and 11 blocks.
Isabelle Haak, the Swedish opposite hitter, was named MVP of the game after a spectacular performance. She scored 26 points, including 3 aces and 5 blocks, proving once again to be Conegliano’s offensive spearhead.
This victory marks Conegliano’s fifth consecutive win in Group D, further solidifying their dominance in the group stage.
Elsewhere in the competition, Group C saw Vero Volley Milano secure a 3–1 away win against Greece’s Olympiakós (27-25, 17-25, 17-25, 14-25).
Paola Egonu, the Italian captain, delivered a stunning performance, scoring 32 points and leading her team with relentless attacking power.
In Group E, Poland’s champions KS DevelopRes Rzeszów produced a commanding display against VC Maritza from Bulgaria, sweeping their opponents with a clean 3–0 victory (20-25, 16-25, 21-25).
