It was Serie A Matchday 9 tonight in Italy, and Imoco Volley Conegliano have scored their tenth straight victory (they’ve played one more game) with a 3-0 away win over CBF Balducci HR Macerata.
Once again, the reigning champions were ruthless — two quick first sets, 16-25 and 12-25. Only the third set was balanced and fought hard, but Imoco took it in the end, 28-26.
The team’s superstar Gabi Guimarães scored no less than 16, while Isabelle Haak added 11 at the Fontescodella arena.
Meanwhile, Savino Del Bene Scandicci (who have also played ten matches) dominated at home against Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri '76 with a clean 3-0 sweep.
Ekaterina Antropova was on fire with 20 points, and Avery Skinner shined too and chipped in 15.
Vero Volley Milano, the third force this season, also claimed victory — defeating Il Bisonte Firenze 3-1 at home. Paola Egonu clinched 21 points, with Khalia Lanier adding 17 more.
In the overall championship standings, Imoco Volley Conegliano lead with 29 points, followed by Savino Del Bene Scandicci at 25, and Vero Volley Milano with 22.
